Ashley's Mission Email #44
We moved into our new house!! Finally Hna Pichardo and I live in our area. Only problem is that transfers are next week so we'll see how long we will be staying. I have 3 transfers here as Hermana Leader, so it's possible that I'll be leaving. We'll see! A donde me mandas ire. I'll go where you want me to go.
This week will be a good one. We have a mission tour and a zone meeting and I will be giving a talk in sacrament. And I get to meet Hna Pichardo's family because Mother's Day is on Saturday here. So exciting!
The family Mena Pichardo (investigators) are doing awesome! They are prepared to hear this Gospel. Their son (20 years old) died 8 months ago. Fransisco the younger brother who is 17 came to church this week and we are already talking about a mission with him. Haha, he's going to EFY here this summer! It's called SOY here but the same program so I think that will help him tons.
So something I've been thinking about lately is how without the work, the good things don't seem as good. So if things seem hard, keep working because that can mean something really good is about to come out of it.
I love you guys.
Love,
Hna Allen

Ashley's Mission Email #43
So We just got done with a zone activity and I'm exhausted. Sorry if this doesn't make sense but hey, it was a good week! We had a bunch of new investigators at church. It's always the coolest thing to be sitting in sacrament and see an investigator walk in.
We've learned here that the opposition works really hard to not let us have baptisms. There were 2 in our zone this Saturday, but there was no water at the church to fill up the font. Oh, if I only had my camera to take a picture of how many missionaries it takes to fill up a baptismal font. It's about 20... it was sure an adventure. In the end, there was only enough water for her to literally sit and then lay down in the water, but all was well!
This week we asked one of the kids of the Familia Diaz Alvarez what his favorite part of church was. He said the bread. Haha.
We are working on making our area a branch and we think we are almost there. We are finding wonderful families who are so prepared! It's awesome to see the Lord work miracles especially in an area that's never seen Mormones before!
Check out the talk by M. Russell Ballard called "Now is the Time" if you want to get a little bit more excited about your missionary work!
Well love you all, but I sure love the DR and these wonderful people here.

Well I don’t have a lot of time because, well an internet center is not quite as reliable as an i pad and my computer is having problems. But, hey a plus is that this place just got air conditioning. Instead of sweating I’m shivering! I don’t know how I am going to handle a winter ever again. But anyways, we went to the temple this week and as always that was amazing. I have never had so many questions but so much peace before. It’s like I’m craving learning more about the gospel. It’s awesome!I also hit 10 months. But I’ve decided to start counting as if I was hitting 8. It’s really hard to think that I’m in the last half of my mission. This is an experience I don’t want to end.Well I love you! Talk to you Sunday!LoveHna Allen
