Ashley's Mission Email #29

The Road to El Dorado

7 months today. I can’t believe it. Sorry guys, but I don’t want to come home. Haha

Anyway our new area is called El Dorado. How appropriate because every day is like an adventure! We live way outside of the area with 4 other sisters, so theres 6 of us in a pretty small apartment. Reminds me of college. But we take the guagua into our area everyday which is an adventure in itself. One day there were so many people in it that the tire blew out. The other day it was raining and we were practically sitting outside the guagua. Fun stuff! The area is really different. It’s just a bunch of residenciales. So there are groups of apartments or houses that are all the same and then jungle, overgrown land in between. It’s a pretty hard area because people are more well off, but we´re excited for the challenge. We´ve already found a few good families!

Oh and my comp is Hna Mapa! She´s from California but was born in Tonga. She´s awesome and I´m so excited to work with her!

We had a Conferencia Regional that was broadcast from Salt Lake and Elder Holland and Elder Packer and Sister Oscarson spoke. It was soooo good. And guess what!! Elder Holland is coming here next month!! Wooo hooo I might finally get to meet him. (Elder Holland was in the Dominican Republic MTC a few weeks before Ashley got there, then in Farmington a few months after she left.)

Well thank you all so much! I can feel your prayers and support and I love you all.
Love
Hermana Allen
