Transfer 13. The Last One. :(

Ashley's Mission Email #69

So I didn’t think I would say this again BUT…I am getting a new companion. Haha Hna Rivera is going to finish another sisters training so she will be leaving Gazcue. I am going to stay and finish Hna Ferman's training which will be a little crazy. (She’s my granddaughter in mission terms. Hna Garcia who I trained, started Hna Fermans training) our mission family history is a bit complicated but I’m excited to train again!

This Sunday we had a cosecha. (Did I explain this last week that I don’t know what we call this in English, but it's when the ward comes and goes out with the missionaries to find more people to teach.) It was great! A bunch of missionaries from the zone came to support it and we received a lot of references! Success. We had been praying that it would all go smoothly and we are so happy that it did. God blesses us when we do our part.

This week I read my patriarchal blessing and looked at the promises that are there, then the things that it tells me to do to receive the blessings, also the gifts it says that I have been given to help me fulfill the promised blessings. Let me tell you, I have never been so grateful to know that God really is a God of order and that He keeps His promises. We just need to do our part.

Well I still love the DR. That won’t ever change. I still love Spanish. I still love wearing this missionary badge. And I still love the Gospel. So I guess nothing really new. I hope you all have a great week. Look for God's promised blessings.

Love

g force!

Ashley's Mission Email #68
What a week! Challenges really do make us stronger. It’s all part of the plan. Opposition helps us find opportunities. The hardest day this week was Saturday where the rain didn’t stop from 3 to the middle of the night and of course that same day the appointments had to fall. I mean I love the rain but I don’t love that nobody likes to let us in the house when we are soaking wet. Haha we learned a lot though!

The best days were probably all the others. We had a service project and we helped a lady clean her new apartment before she moves in. Cleaning Dominican style of course which I feel is just turning the house into a water park. We just threw buckets of water all over, then soap, then more water. Now that’s how you clean!
We also feel like we are really getting somewhere with our plans to leave with members and work well together. There are 6 sisters in the ward and we live together. We call ourselves g force (for Gazcue) and we are really working together to help this ward out. We have a cosecha planned on Sunday (where all the ward meets at the chruch then goes out with the missionaries to find more people) we are really excited for that!
Entonces....espero que tengan una buena semana. Les quiero mucho. Aproveche cada momento porque se va rapido.

El Tiempo del Señor

Ashley's Mission Email #67

I think the greatest lesson I've learned this week is that everything happens in the Lord's timing. I've heard that a lot but it's crazy how true it is. We just have to go with the flow. He knows what’s best and when and He uses the waiting time to teach us a lesson.

The pictures say a little of what we did this week. It's been a good one! Like I said, all is in the Lord's time. Sometimes I feel like that goes by way too fast.

Sorry for the short email. I love you all and hope you have an awesome week!

A Zone Activity.

An ugly hair competition. We had to beat the Elders in their ugly tie competition.

A mango the size of my face, and delicious too.

Mixed emotions. (16 months out)

Happy Halloween!
