La Luna
Ashley's Mission Email #41
Hola!!
I got sunburnt this week. I haven´t gotten sunburnt since my first week here! Summer is coming and I´m not sure if I'm ready for that.
We get to go to the temple on Wednesday!
So a cool little experience I had this week. We were walking out of a lesson. It was like 7 or 8 at night and my comp was talking to the member we were with and I just looked up at the moon and the stars and it was SO pretty. The sky was completely clear. It made me realize that it's been a while since the last time I just looked at the sky. Maybe it sounds a little cheesy but it's a testimony that God exists and loves us. So this week you should try to have some type of spiritual experience every day. Sometimes they don´t just happen. Usually they don´t just happen. We have to take some time look for them. So take some time to have a daily spiritual experience and see how it can change you!
I love you all and miss you but I am beyond grateful for the decision I made to serve a mission. I didn´t even realize how good of a choice it was at the time, but I'm glad I made it.
Love
Hermana Allen

El Dia de Milagros.
Ashley's Mission Email #40
Well this Sunday we saw some great miracles. The Diaz Alvarez family was able to come to church. (It was even a miracle to get to their house, wake them up, wait for them to get ready and walk them out to have a member family give us a ride all just in time for church to start.) But also, Yissel came! She´s a young mother and she´s awesome! We were fasting with her this Sunday and she came and even paid her fast offering. She is so great and we are seeing great changes in her.Oh and transfers! But I´m staying here and staying with Hna Pichardo! My first transfer to not have any changes. How crazy! But we will finally be moving into a house in our area. Not sure if I have already told you this but for the past 2 transfers we have had to take the guagua to our area every day. The guagua is not like a bus with seats. It’s a van overflowing with people. I think one time we counted 27 people. Most of the time we are sitting half in half out. It’s an adventure but I sure won´t miss that part!Well everyone, miracles do exist because God is a God of miracles. Look out for them this week. You´ll find there are too many to count.Love you.Hna Allen

Thanks for the Birthday Wishes!
Ashley's Mission Email #39
My Birthday was great! Thank you so much for all the Birthday wishes! The sisters that I live with are awesome and they made me a little breakfast in bed and we had cake and ice cream with our district and it was really fun. Definitely a birthday I won´t forget because it´s the only one I´ll have here in the mission but they did a great job of making it fun! It’s been a great week! We saw some cows walking through the residential when we went to contact. Lots of kids flying homemade kites called chichiguas. A meeting with President Corbitt, the Assistants, the Stake President and all the Bishops all about missionary responsibilities. And lots of rain. Over all, lots of miracles and lots of fun!I love you all!LoveHermana Allen

La Conferencia General
Ashley's Mission Email #38
What an awesome conference right? We watched the first session in Spanish and I just realized how much hearing their voices makes such a difference. Luckily we got it set up in English for the rest of the sessions. Can you believe there´s going to be a temple in Haiti?? That’s 2 for the Carribean! Yay for Las Islas Del Mar.This week we got to do intercambios with other hermana leaders so I got to work in Gazcue (That’s where the mission office is, like the middle of the city.) While we were there President invited us to have lunch and a little doctrine study session with him. Apparently he does that sometimes because the hermanas live really close. It was so cool! We talked about virtue and how it includes down to our integrity and thoughts. Also about the power that it brings and it’s need, with the priesthood to have a home centered in Christ. President and Hermana Corbitt are the best.Well I love you all. Let me know your favorite quote from conference!LoveHermana AllenP.S. sorry, left my memory card at home so no pictures today.P.P.S I realized I´ve been here a long time when Romeo Santos and El Mayor and Dominican songs are more of a temptation than English music…didn't think that would happen. Haha
